So I’m staying in Northern Canada this summer in Fort McMurray, Alberta. And I get to see some interesting natural phenomena. The rocky landscape is pretty gorgeous, and you can see Northern Lights from here too. You can also smell it when a forest fire is about to go. The heat here is DRY!!!
Pricing here is something else, especially when it relates to the service industries (walmart, shoppers, etc, all have the same pricing nationally, which is good). Goods are priced at twice the rates of that of Ontario. And dinning out can get pricey.
I went out to a really nice restaurant, and for two people, the tab came up to $160, paid $200 (since the usual 17% tip clearly doesn’t apply here). And at a Japanese restaurant for sushi, the price came up to 95 dollars (and I didn’t even have a beer). This is twilight zone stuff here, i tell ya.
Some couples are pulling in half-a-million per year as income!!! Money is viewed differently around here.

The first watch of night,
and the crescent moon light,
where at this very dusk
there was a gentle juxtaposition
between their parting lips
The spirits that be
converged to ferry
them down the path of wanderlust
Running from stale tears,
trying to lose the cross-hairs
that frayed all that was dear
A train ride.
electric charges.
the sparking of lances.
In Hyde Park.
at the centre.
London.
The gates open up
at the speed of a last gasp
Journey of a thousand miles
culminates in a transfiguration
- a joining with lights
