God is touched by our emotions

The title is a sentence in a devotional book i read on most days. I read it but many days, i don’t think on the stuff I read as I used to. A lack of mediation is pretty shoddy. Its pretty interesting how the worries or cares of the day cloud out the whole meditation bit.

In 2 King 20: 5, God tells Hezekiah the following (the back story is that death was proclaimed on Hezekiah, he freaked, got scared, and prayed and pleaded to God to extend his life)

”Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears, Behold, I will heal you….”

In Jonah 4, Jonah was angry, and expressed that emotion in his prayer. And God listened and taught him.

I learned a time ago that its important to take all things to God in prayer, even if it feels weird or strange saying or expressing it.

And today, I learnt something unique about the whole Jonah passage. Apparently, the fish was a “god” symbol or a god to the people of Niniveh, so, with the fish spitting out Jonah, God met the people were they were at, with blind belief state and set them straight with preaching.

Difference between a Smile and Laughter lie in the Tense

Among the thousands of human expressions one might observe, two of them always symbolize truthfully or ruefully the time one’s in.

A smile, beautiful and simple,
salient and inaudible
could carry the poison’s of past regrets,
or the smoldering of tommorrow’s hopes

Empty barrels make the loudest noise they say,
but laughter is always about the present,
It is ever in the moment

Every smiles carries a thought,
that’s why mona lisa’s is analyzed to naught
For all that’s known, the painter might have been naked,
As her mind compares and breakdown the perverse and the sacred

A laugh is not full of any thoughts,
Just of its present enjoyment and things of that sort,
Its unpretty and in the here and now,
and denotes a life of many joys

A smile can be photogenic,
teasing with the possibility of interesting stories,
but can be laden with gulleys
and little tricks

Which would you rather own,
Laughing Lines on today’s throne,
or smiles yearn or frown
that never make it to one’s brow.
A pretty picture stuck in time,
or dynamic present overflowing down the line.

To the tide (we say)

there is you
there is I
walking hand
in hand

Saying bye
to the tide
that ferried us
to the island’s shores

We gonna build it up
and grow a living crop
making our world
better, one neighbor
at a time

Pathfinder

I find my way in the echos of the beat,
through the intervals and rests on the sheet.
In the dark corners of my humanity, a melody is lit,
on chord progressions and notes I feast
And it calls and links those in need
to come, come and eat,
And together we are singing in the street.

In our time

if beethoven was inserted to our time,
his masterpieces would be reduced
to a few hooks just to shine.

Gone are textures of pianissimo,
the captivating crescendo,
Replaced with lyrics of braggadocio

Einstein’s E=MC2,
would be presented by bikini models
because afterall, less is more anywhere

In our time,
we eat today,
for the morrow,
we might lose all vim

Our time is smart, zany, fleeting, and beauteous,
yet insatiably lecherous.

Movement II (Expectant)

Much perspiration
Over an expectation
One can’t anticipate

Yields
illusional perspectives
fields
dillusional operatives

But know that
In that very depth
lies the reality
that you are not inept
and in that, you are filled with serenity.

Interlocks

I have seen somethings under the sun
and they baffle everyone born;
The way in which one says nothing,
but all in the same breathe reveals everything,
The way an emotion at the start,
can elate or deflate the heart

 And of course,

Moving pictures!
Even Warhol’s structures
never had this many dimensions!

Four curved things come together in unision,
In synergy, they are one,
A fifth moves like electricity
calibrating to the oscillating chemistry

Left wall
to the right one
scents beheld at its microscopic
sights seen with a lick
A bite resonates,
as a move culmanates

Yardsale

The front door said to the back door
“you are nothing more than a gateway to the backyard”

The back door retorted,
“you are nothing more  than a gateway to the frontyard”

The yard’s rebuttal was,
“this is my land, BITCHES”

Winter stars remain in the sky

A bulimic tree
without any of its known leprosy
A bare ground
whose corpse is left naked bound

The usual stars
that clothe the angel
are missing from here

It’s february
The polar bears are sleep deprived
Fall was slightly ornery
but we’ll go apple picking in april.
